Waco Texas, home of the Bears
Howdy partners and greetings from Texas. We currently find ourselves in Waco, home of Baylor College, and the Baylor Bears (my wife’s Alma Matter), Chip and Joanne, and just about all of my in-laws.
After the Xscapers rally in Arizona and a month of remolding my office, we are back in Texas to take care of a lot of pressing business. The house still hasn’t sold, we own far too many RVs because instead of selling them and buying new ones, we just buy new ones and plan to sell the old ones later. Also after a few thousand miles on the road Lucy (our class A motorhome) is in need a little bit of care.
Waco has become our defacto home base Erica’s parents and grandparents live here so we spend most of the holiday season here, and we can stay in her grandparent’s guest room for a few days if we need to. We stayed a few days out at the lake to relax after the long drive home, 1600 miles in 4 days, then dropped Lucy off at the shop for repairs. Staying with the family at the moment which has its challenges such as my cat not being allowed in the house. Luckily we still have our last travel trailer stored in the backyard, so he has his own apartment. I feel bad leaving him outside alone, so I sleep with him at night and Erica stays in the house.
We need to get the travel trailer sold, and then the truck, we need to get some things sorted out down in Austin where our how is. We’ll see what this time holds for us. I hope we get the motorhome back soon and can get it out to a park so we can have a bit of normal living for a while. Staying with family is a blessing, but my introvert alarms are constantly screaming at me that my batteries are dangerously low.
In an unfortunate turn, we were informed this morning that my sister-in-law’s mother has passed away, so we’ll be attending services in Dallas and supporting that part of the family in any way we can.
Hope you all have a safe and wonderful day and remember Sic ‘Em Bears
